Ciara O’Connell is an anthropologist turned market researcher who worked in the Consumer & Customer Insights Department at Campbell Soup Company for 15 years, ultimately leading that function. She is well versed in new methods and suppliers in the market research industry and has always been first in line to pilot new approaches that might drive even deeper insights for less time and money than traditional approaches allow. While she has a couple of years of supplier-side experience, Ciara particularly excels as a go-to market researcher on the client side. She has led insights work for positioning, creative development and testing, brand health tracking, packaging and shelving, new product development, and discovery of whitespace opportunities where unmet needs abound. And she has worked on some of America’s most beloved and trusted brands, including Campbell’s Soup, Goldfish, Snyder’s of Hanover, Prego, Pace, V8, and Swanson Broth.
Ciara is fully versed in POS and panel syndicated data and has extensive experience with all types of survey research – with consumer segmentations, needstate studies and demand landscapes being among her favorites. And, not surprisingly, Ciara still enjoys doing in-depth interviews with consumers more than anything else. In addition to an M.A. in Anthropology and M.B.A., Ciara also has an M.S. in Strategic Foresight, and trained more than 60 people at Campbell how to systematically study shifting trends and anticipate likely future scenarios. Ciara joined Comcast NBC Universal in early 2022 to lead Consumer Value Proposition development, articulation and validation across all Product teams, and also spent nearly two years leading Emerging Services for Xfinity Mobile in a more traditional product management role. She launched InForeSights Consulting to return “home” to market research and help brands uncover deep human insights at quantitative scale to future-proof their growth strategies.
